- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Metamorphosis by Brainstorm [web]
- Pretty good, I would say major release, with some 3D and 2D vectors (and no metamorph effect, which is a little confusing). Bit afflicted by #nodezign #codercolors, but that was not rare then ;)

I had the naïve idea [...] on the amiga itself.
Not at all, the Amiga is more than capable for start to end demo production. <3 It can ofc "convert and replay", like 5GHz platforms, without needing them. Just a choice whether to fulfill the definition of demo since 1990 and probably before.
Slideshow and now you feel confused it won the democompo. This is up to orgas, and they sort of did you wrong here, now it's a demo.
Nice gfx, now I'm asked here for the imperial thumb as demo compared to many demos, instead of code/gfx/music scores. Hope you find time to develop on Amiga and make some excellent effects :) - sucksadded on the 2024-02-04 01:27:33
- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Is Real by Desire [web]
- The party mood during compo was definitely halted by this demo, and I didn't like that at the time. I think the unexpectedness (and as for many political topics in general) hurt its placement.
But I think the reason for contributing it was separate from that.
I don't know if I want more of the news flow in demos, but I think it's important that it was shown, the most demoscenish of the demos in the compo, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's nominated for Meteoriks.
Well-made and slick presentation, and I think the graphics look spot on for what should look like gritty newspaper clippings. Great release! - rulezadded on the 2024-01-31 21:55:32
- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Planetary Void by Five Finger Punch
- No. Was initially hyped for this from watching it on the bigscreen, but the lot of filler screens and the presentation makes this look lame and ugly many times through the long demo.

- Neat and tidy. Welcome back :) Great that you improve AsmPro, I understand you've shared ideas with a/b on EAB, since you skipped 1.19.

Any deets on the tunnel?
Sure, maybe I should do a proper write-up at some point. The tunnel uses a 86x50 copper chunky screen. It was orignally bigger, but it didn't leave time for the music routine!
Hm. I guess it uses a special mode then, or you too could Water my Grey Beard. ;) Obviously I would have made it wider if it were really possible, and at no point was the music routine a consideration. - isokadded on the 2024-01-31 00:31:24

Hi photon, all vector stuff is cpu. Due to time.constraints I used 0 custom chips. Wish I had 8mhz....
Oh no! 7.094/8=13% less lines, with the Blitter you can double it! So this is a damn ST port!! (c) (etc) :D - isokadded on the 2024-01-31 00:17:43

Which sin table generator did you borrow ?
It was posted in a discussion on a forum about a small sine table generator, I've tried to find it again but to no avail.
Smallest Sin gens on Amiga are by me and 4b (and improved precision) after some months by Raylight/Powerline <3 on ADA. Nothing to do with this intro though, where compression is king and space is plentiful.
Appreciate the writer banter :D Hey - p.s. - Tramiel didn't keep up with Commodore ;)
Complaints about 1991 effects above seem weird. I don't mind the effects, the only one was the tunnel which doesn't look smooth.
Leaves the 'bob' ships. Also done in 1991 with more colors, certainly doable now with less, meaning 1bpl, meaning no masks, meaning no bob record, meaning even the CPU can do it, meaning Atari ST code can do it.
But you used the Blitter for the line ships. ;) (Actually not necessary, but this is my prediction.)
Shadebobs part looked best on my Amiga, kind of a wild mix of effects, greetings to all involved. :) - isokadded on the 2024-01-30 23:08:33
